News, new works, new CDs:
My latest work Shorelines was commissioned by Matt Withers & the
Acacia Quartet. This piece for guitar & string quartet is set to be
premiered on the 18 August at the National Aboretum in Canberra; with
further performances in Sydney & Melbourne. Details soon.
Also just completed, a work for the guitar duo Amythis, "The
Lake of Stars", which Harold and Veronique toured in April here
in Australia and in Germany. Based on images of Lake Tyrrell in
All the guitar world was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of
Phillip Houghton. A dear friend and a uniquely gifted composer, he was
an inspiration to all but, particularly to me. I
attended a special Celebration Concert of Phil's music
at Montsalvat in Melbourne late last year; a place where we first met way back in 1989. Here are highlights

I have done some new cello & guitar arrangements for Karin Schaupp's latest collaboration CD,
with cellist Umberto Clerici, released in March.

My latest quartet, Five Tails in Cold Blood, was premiered by Tim Kain and Guitar Trek.
Commissioned by Bill McIntyre to celebrate the 30th anniversary of
Australia's much loved guitar group, the premiere was last November in
Under Latin Skies, CD with Karin Schaupp & Katie Noonan won
2017 Aria Award for Best World music album.
This has some iconic Latin tunes, arranged by myself, Doug de Vries, Ken
Murray & others.
I had the great privilege of conducting the Adelaide Guitar Festival
Orchestra (AGFO) at the 2016 Adelaide International Guitar Festival.
